Grouse and Woodcock Hunting Our Woodcock hunting opens the 15th of September each year, while Grouse hunting starts on October 1st. We have a good "local" population of Woodcock and are located in the woodcock migration route. By the first week of October, we start getting our first flights. We have very liberal limits on each species, with eight woodcock and six grouse daily - double these amounts for total possession. Our fine line of imported Irish Setters - from the British Isles - are used on upland birds, and I am sure you will enjoy these "old fashioned" guys! We have a list of different "combination packages" that you can choose from. Your licenses are available right here at the lodge.
Miramichi Inn offers one of the best quality Black Bear hunts that you will ever find in North America. Our success in the past will prove it. We have maintained an over 85% success rate in the last fifteen years, with a ratio of 100% over this past season. The season runs from April 15th to the end of June, but we start taking hunters around May 10th only, as in the springtime, it takes some time to get the bears accustomed to eating again, following their long winter fast. Our lodge can accommodate up to twelve hunters or fishermen at any given time, but we limit ourselves to about 30 hunters a season for Black Bear.
